What was your biggest concern before your trip regarding purchasing a SIM card for the USA?
I was afraid I wouldn't actually have data. I wasn't sure 5 GB would be enough but the fact that you just get slower streaming after you use it up works too.
Now that you've used the SIM card, how do you feel about the Telaway service?
The card worked well, I didn't have to access any customer service, it was truly install and go. Telaway worked well 90% of the time. Sometimes when we were in the back forty in lightly populated areas it wasn't able to connect with any of the local servers. Near any main centres, it was FAST and FABULOUS!
What was the best feature or value of the Telaway service?
The best feature was that it WORKS! Yes, you can buy pay as you go SIM cards in the USA for phone calls and texting, but data is another story. To have all the features that the Telaway card offered is really unheard of. To be able to stay in touch with unlimited texting and talking with family and friends at home was a joy and a relief. And while I didn't really NEED Facebook while I was on vacation, it was awfully nice to be able to do so. I found the price of the service to be quite fair as well. Australia is the only country I've ever been to that can beat these rates.
Would you recommend Telaway to a friend?
YES! Hands down, absolutely! We shopped around in desperation before our trip, our own provider wanted a ridiculous, unaffordable amount to provide any type of service in the USA. We looked in the US, and the only options there are to either buy a phone with a contract plan or buy a SIM with a limited amount of local texting and calls with zero data. If there was a service offering data as well as calls and texting back to Canada, we weren't able to find it.
Telaway is the ONLY solution to travel to the US!

It was absolutely ace! I would thoroughly recommend using this in the USA, it worked straight away it was really reliable. I got it to use while we were in the parks, it was great to be able to access the wait times for the rides.

As I said above, it was ace!

Definitely! Not having to worry about getting an expensive bill when you get home.

The service was excellent. I have seamless uninterrupted call quality to international landlines and cell phones with excellent date coverage.
What was the best feature or value of the Telaway service?
The hand on nature of the VP - Business Developments responsiveness, passion and congruency in his product. The ability to make international call efficiently and with minimal fuss. Also the hotels in Manhattan tend to charge for internet access at exorbitant rates so it was refreshing to have 4G coverage without the expense of connecting to the hotels WiFi.
Would you recommend Telaway to a friend?
Absolutely. People will always be looking for the cheapest deal and whilst I do believe that Telaway is competitive, its the attention to detail, after care service, and value of Teleway which sets it apart from other products in the market. I have no reservations about using Telaway each and every time I travel to the US.

Totally impressed- great delivery and function all over my region of business visit and data worked faultlessly

I had a issue with others in Australia not reaching my number but I spoke to telaway call centre guy in New York who was courteous and helpful and we eliminated issues and it turned out to be my provider at home not setting up the silent number which I was able to sort because I could call into Australia and speak with Telstra to sort it
