Unlock Your Phone



The Simple How-To: 



In order to be able to use your TelAway USA SIM while travelling internationally with your phone, you need to make sure it is fully unlocked (SIM-Free) and can be used by all carriers. That way, you will avoid insane roaming fees from your provider, and be able to use your TelAway USA SIM and enjoy local rates.


The best way to determine whether or not your device is unlocked is to contact your current mobile phone provider and they will verify either way. Below is some information regarding the major UK mobile phone providers and their general policies toward unlocking. Please visit their websites for more details.


O2 Symbol


Business customers: The main account holder must fill out this form and within 72 hours, your device will be unlocked. Please note that your remaining contractual charges may still apply and this may vary by device. After 3 days, you will receive the unlock code and will be able to insert the new sim. If you have an iPhone, please connect to iTunes to complete the process.


Pay & Go Customers:
Any iPhone can be unlocked for a fee of £15 at any time; however, any other device can only be unlocked 12 months after the purchase date.  If eligible, simply fill out this form and the charge will be deducted from your balance. After 3 days, you will receive the unlock code and will be able to insert the new sim. If you have an iPhone, please connect to iTunes to complete the process.


Pay Monthly Customers:


All devices (except the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c, which cannot be unlocked at the moment) can be unlocked at no cost. Simply fill out this form.  Please note that your remaining contractual charges may still apply and this may vary by device. After 3 days, you will receive the unlock code and will be able to insert the new sim. If you have an iPhone, please connect to iTunes to complete the process.


Orange EE and Tmobile

  • You must be a current customer who’s had the account for 6+ months
  • The IMEI must not be blacklisted (we’ll check this for you)
  • Pay monthly customers cannot have an outstanding balance

If this is the case, simply fill in this form.  Keep in mind, It takes up to 20 days to unlock a phone (or 60 days if it's a Samsung) and there’s an admin fee of £20.42. This can be paid by credit or debit card, or if you’re a pay monthly customer you can add it to your next bill, and pay as you go customers can have it deducted from the account balance.
