Unlock Your Canadian Phone

The best way to make sure that your cell phone is unlocked is to contact your local cell phone carrier, here are some quick guidlines regarding unlocking.
Please search for your cell phone service and read a bit more about their specifications and directions to unlock your device:
Telus

Eligibility:
You must have been a customer for 90+ days, have no outstanding balance amounts, and pay a $35 service fee.  Then, contact customer care and they will assign you the unlock code:
On your TELUS mobile phone: Dial *611
Canada: 1-866-558-2273
US: 1-866-771-9666

Rogers
Eligibility:
You have to be a customer for 90+ days OR have paid for the device in full (without a subsidy for committing to a contract). The cost is $50 and to do so contact customer care at 1 855 381-7835 or speak to agent on live chat . If unlocked by Rogers, your warranty will not be affected
How To:
Once you have received the unlock code, follow the steps listed here for your specific device to complete the process.
Bell

Eligibility:

Bell can unlock your device immediately provided that you paid for the full phone fees without a subsidy, you bought the phone from Bell, and you pay the service fee.
Otherwise, Bell can unlock your device 90 days following the purchase date, once again, as long as you bought the phone from them and the service fee is paid.
The unlocking fee is $50, but can be up to $150 if your account has a credit limit or deposit.
